When I first saw this cover I was struck by the work of the artist, luckily I was able to read the signature of Haskell Coffin. Quite an accomplished artist, I am going to post a 1919 Christmas cover he did for The American Magazine that is stunning. http://www.curtispublishing.com/bios/Coffin.shtml

I see he committed suicide in 1941. A sad end for a talented artist.
